Last year’s Jorge Manuel ‘Upon A Star’ win a couture wedding gown contest brought 252 hopefuls from all over the U.S. to compete for a gorgeous one-of-a-kind bridal gown. Once again the designer brings a second season of the contest to brides for the chance to win another gorgeous gown designed just for this competition. One grand prize winner, six finalists’ prizes and a new way of scoring that includes the public vote promises to make this year’s competition bigger and better!

What is the Upon A Star Contest?

It is an annual wedding dress contest where designer Jorge Manuel and a Jorge Manuel Retailer Sponsor come together to give away a one-of-a-kind gown to a lucky bride. This year’s sponsor Hitched and Jorge Manuel will give one lucky winner a Jorge Manuel design valued at $4,730 and a one-night stay at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington D.C. Six (6) finalists will be selected throughout the contest where a public vote will account 50% of total points and the other 50% tallied by a panel of six (6) judges from both the designer’s staff and sponsoring retailer until the winner is finally announced on May 18, 2012.

What Do I need to participate?

SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
Make sure you understand and agree with the Rules and Regulations for the contest. Then prepare an essay (600 words or less) telling us about your love story, your plans for your gorgeous wedding, and why the contest gown would be a perfect fit for you. Whenever you are ready, submit it along with at least (1) picture of yourself and the lucky fiancé by applying online at jorgemanuelweddings.com. Make sure you submit your entry before time runs out on March 17, 2012.

WAIT FOR THE RESULTS
Contest entries will be allowed for submission 30 days from February 17, 2012. Each entry will be tallied by a group of judges who will narrow down the applications to six (6) finalists. Then these finalists will be selected and featured on the designer’s website for open public voting. It will be a chance for the public to hear your story of love and vote for their favorites. Once the public voting ends and the total judges scores are added the winner will be announced on May 18, 2012 at Hitched Salon in Washington D.C. in at the ‘UPON A STAR’ party.
