Jorge Manuel Garcia
Miami

Jorge Manuel is a young breakthrough Cuban-American couturier among this generation of new designers. He was born in the beautiful city of Miami, in the midst of the Mariel Boat Lift. He grew up a product of the cultural melting pot of the city, while attending schools mostly influenced by Latin American families. He graduated with a degree in Advertising and Liberal Studies from Florida International University where he took a variety of classes in design and graphics. Jorge has long been exposed to the enriching Latin community within this city and, inevitably, this ubiquitous Latin culture has shaped
his collection.

Jorge began his career as a wedding planner, as well as, modeling; but his need for a challenge in artistic expression led him to pursue a career in fashion. His journey began designing his first wedding at 15. He quickly became a popular wedding planner within the Hispanic community opening his first event company at 16. His talents naturally branched out from
designing weddings to designing wedding gowns. Jorge Manuel developed a keen eye and a love for wedding gowns that inevitably lead him down the design path. Jorge Manuel's first wedding gown was designed and produced at the age of 17.

Jorge Manuel opened an atelier in 2004. His couture gowns, exquisitely handcrafted and designed, have been worn by clients who not only chose to wear his designs, but also, trusted him to plan their elaborate and intricate weddings. After four years in the making, Jorge Manuel is launching his first collection of Haute Couture and prêt-a-porter gowns. The inspiration for his designs derives from the personal experiences he's had with the important women that have surrounded and influenced him throughout these four years. These women very close to Jorge Manuel, have all played a unique part in the motivation for his designs. It has been the collection of their experiences that, whether directly or indirectly, impacted and led him to create what he will unveil as his first four-year-in-the-making collection.
